As is tradition, Kulik Lodge manager, Bo Bennett, put together a recap of our 2019 season as part of our annual holiday newsletter. We know some of you may have not received it (sorry, you have to join us at the lodge to receive one, wink wink), but we thought we’d share his words with you.
Take it away, Bo!
2019 Kulik Lodge Recap
The 2019 Kulik Lodge season was spectacular to say the least. Kulik hosted 492 fishing and bear viewing guests from the US and 13 foreign countries, and without exception, each of our guests raved about their fishing experiences. During the season of 2018, fishing was so good I started referring to that season as a “vintage” year. The 2019 season was, in my opinion, even better although the discussions surrounding our unprecedented warm, dry weather and never seen before low water somewhat overshadowed the great fishing.
Thanks to the great work of Mike Sanders, our Chief Operating Officer, and our building crews, Kulik Lodge opened the 2019 season with three spectacular new cabins. We also moved our King Camp on the Nushagak River to a much better location with new boats ready to go! The great weather enabled us to get to the “Nush” without any weather delays and fishing was great although the warm water had the kings down deep.
The weather turned hot late in June and stayed unseasonably warm for the remainder of the season, yet fishing remained simply outstanding.
So now as the Holidays approach and on behalf of our crew, we wish you the merriest of holidays and our blessings for the new Year. As you and your family and friends gather to celebrate, please raise your favorite beverage and join us in a toast: To the Kulik River – simply the best rainbow trout fishing that exists and To Kulik – without a doubt the finest fishing lodge in North America and probably the world!

Hey, Bo, it’s been a long time. I certainly hope you and Lynn are doing well. I just got to thinking about all of the fire activity in Northern California and immediately thought of you and KJ. Good times, my friend. Anyway, let’s try to keep in touch and let me know how the lodge business is going. I’m sure Sonny and the gang were happy to see you come back. Later
