At Kulik Lodge, our turnover days are every Tuesday and Saturday during our operating season. That means that not only can guests book week-long trips with us (i.e. Tuesday to Tuesday, or, Saturday to Saturday), but they can also book 4 Night trips (Tuesday to Saturday), or even 3 Night Trips (Saturday to Tuesday).

Whether you’re looking to maximize that once in a lifetime trip to Alaska with a 7 Night stay or just parlay a little “me time” into that family vacation with a 3 Night trip, we’re really proud of the fact that we’re able to offer multiple trip options to our guests. After all, the more people we’re able to share out little piece of angling paradise with, the better!
However, a common question we receive regarding our different trip options is “how many days of fishing do I get during a 3 Night, 4 Night, or 7 Night trip?” Great question!
For starters, we run multiple flights from Anchorage to Kulik (and back to Anchorage) on our turnover days. Depending on what flight you’re on, we aim to get you on the water as soon as possible on your arrival day. There may also be time (if you’re on one of our afternoon flights) to fish on your departure day as well. For all practical purposes, fishing time on your arrival day and/or your departure day amounts to one full day of fishing. The remaining number of full fishing days (and thus those in which fly outs are possible) depends on the length of trip booked.
3 Night Trips
Our 3 Night trips run from Saturday to Tuesday and are extremely popular for folks incorporating a trip to Bristol Bay into their vacation agenda. Have a few days on the front or back end of a vacation and want to fish some of the finest streams in Bristol Bay? A 3 Night trip might be a great option for you.
As far as the number of fishing days available during a 3 Night trip, a day-to-day break down is as follows:
- Day 1: Arrive at Kulik (fish the Kulik River upon arrival, if on morning/mid-day flight)
- Day 2: Full day of fishing (fly outs possible)
- Day 3: Full day of fishing (fly outs possible)
- Day 4: Depart Kulik (fish the Kulik River in morning, if on mid-day/afternoon flight)
4 Night Trips
Our 4 Night trips run from Tuesday to Saturday and is a great option for those interested in a full lodge experience without the cost or time required for a full week stay.

My purpose is not to fish but to see the bears at Brooks Falls. Do you fly there every day? Let’s say I did a 5 night stay at Kulik. Thank you.
Same comment. I have no interest in fishing, coming for bears. How far to the bear viewing area and how do we get there?
Hi Judi, we are a full fly out operation, so are able to get to Brooks Falls for bear viewing with about a 20-minute float plane flight. Hope that answers our question!
